First Steps
First Steps is Kentucky’s Early Intervention System (KEIS) that serves children from birth to age 3 who have a developmental delay or a particular medical condition that is known to cause a developmental delay. First Steps services are provided statewide and coordinated by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
Assertive Community
Assertive Community Treatment is a way to deliver a full range of services to people who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness. The goal of Assertive Community Treatment is to give program participants adequate community care and help them live a full life that is not defined by their mental illness.
KY-Moms Maternal Assistance Toward Recovery
KY-Moms is a program developed to help soon-to-be and recent mothers reduce harm to themselves and their children that comes from maternal substance use during and after pregnancy.
Consultation and Education
Four Rivers Behavioral Health Consultation and Education Services are provided to assist in issues involving client care or program management. Consultation services are available to schools, churches, service organizations, the courts, jails, health care providers, business, industry, and the general public. Educational services are provided to improve community understanding and sensitivity toward individuals with mental health, developmental disability or substance abuse issues. This is accomplished by providing education services to consumers, families, and the general public, and by informing the public of existing programs and resources.
Employee Assistance Programs
Employee Assistance Programs promote employee well-being by offering confidential assistance to employees who have a personal problem which interferes with job performance. Four Rivers Behavioral Health can provide this valuable service to business and industry across the region. Four Rivers Behavioral Health can also offer Drug Free Workplace training for your organization. We can customize a program that is right for you and your employees. Court Services
Four Rivers Behavioral Health provides guardianship evaluations and involuntary commitment proceedings with courts in the region via contractual agreements with the local county governments. The courts can also make contractual agreements with Four Rivers Behavioral Health to receive evaluations for competency to stand trial in cases involving misdemeanor charges. Four Rivers Behavioral Health works with the state-wide Jail Triage program to assist regional jails with risk management and assessment of mentally ill individuals who are arrested and lodged in a jail in the region.
Hospital Services
Four Rivers Behavioral Health staff work with the local hospitals in contractual agreements to provide on-site consultation for psychiatric or behavioral issues to assist the patient and the hospital with level of care decisions and referral for services. Persons who require more intensive care or longer treatment may be hospitalized at Lourdes Hospital’s Behavioral Health Unit or Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville, KY.
