Silver Care

SilverCare is a specially designed bundle of services from Four Rivers Behavioral Health for seniors. Oftentimes, as we age, our emotional well-being takes a backseat to physical health.

While this phenomenon is understandable, and physical health is certainly important – especially for older people – mental health plays an important role in the overall well-being of seniors. Furthermore, recent studies indicate mental health is closely tied to physical health.

SilverCare Services from Four Rivers Behavioral Health are tailored to the individual. Seniors can choose what works best for them and identify programs or services benefiting them.

How to Get Care

Appointments with our Center for Medical Services are made by referral only. Referrals come from Four Rivers Behavioral Health’s therapist and clinicians. Referrals are also accepted from area medical providers.

Psychiatric Care

Four Rivers Behavioral Health Medical Services staff includes psychiatrists and nurse practitioners wtih specialties ranging from children to geriatric care. Specialists focusing on senior care are well-versed in addressing the unique challenges of geriatric patients, including concerns like dementia, early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease, social isolation, home safety, substance abuse and nutritional counseling along with depression, anxiety and grief. 

Case Management

Navigating the many services available to seniors can be daunting. With this in mind, Four Rivers Behavioral Health’s case management services for our SilverCare seniors. Case Managers will visit you in your home and help you find the right combination of care and resources to meet your needs.

Group Therapy

Similar to Outpatient Therapy, you would meet with a counselor regularly, along with other people who are experiencing difficulties similar to your own. The therapist leads the group and helps to encourage a dialog among the participants. These discussions often lead to suggestions from others on how they may have addressed a similar problem. Most group therapy sessions focus on a very specific topic, like grief, anger or other singular concerns.

Traditional Outpatient Therapy

Outpatient therapy is the first thing most people think of when it comes to mental health care. Outpatient therapy is simply meeting with a therapist to discuss what’s going on in your life and if you’re struggling with something particular. Outpatient therapy is available both in the office and via telehealth.

Therapists at Four Rivers Behavioral Health employ a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Motivational Interviewing and trauma-focused treatments.
