Duncan E. Darnell, M.D.
Duncan E. Darnell, MD is the Director of Medical Services for Four Rivers Behavioral Health. Dr. Darnell graduated medical school from James H. Quillen College of Medicine and completed residency in General Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Institute of Psychiatry. Dr. Darnell is the only Board-Certified Child Psychiatrist in the region.
With a specialty in child psychiatry, Dr. Darnell works closely with the OurPlace Program at Four Rivers Behavioral Health. OurPlace is an intensive program for school-aged adolescents offering five hours of behavioral health care a day along with educational instruction. Dr. Darnell works with a team made up of Four Rivers Behavioral Health therapists, clinicians and educators.
Dr. Ballew received her undergraduate degree and Master’s of Science from Murray State University.
She completed her residency at the University of Louisville and went on to serve as the Chief Resident at the university.
Dr. Ballew is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology: Psychiatry, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology: Psychosomatic Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
She is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. In 2024, she was named as one of the 100 Best Doctors in Kentucky and was named one of the Top 100 Addiction Psychiatrists in the U.S. in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
With a specialty in geriatric psychiatry, Dr. Ballew leads the SilverCare program at Four Rivers Behavioral Health. SilverCare is a suite of services designed especially for seniors and includes not only psychiatry and traditional outpatient therapy, but also includes case management, medication management, wellness services and more.
Dr. Ballew holds a Doctorate of Education in Program Development and Speech Pathology from Vanderbilt University, a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology and a Diplomate of Lifetime Certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
Fumiko Hattori, APRN, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Yale University School of Nursing and has been with Four Rivers Behavioral Health since 2014.
Derek received his Masters in Nursing from Frontier University and is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC. Derek provides psychiatric care across the lifespan and works closely with both the medical team and therapy teams to provide comprehensive care by pairing medication management with therapy.
In addition, Derek is very involved with Four Rivers Behavioral Health's iHope and ACT programs. The iHope program is designed around juveniles and young adults experiencing their first episode of psychosis and helps identify, treat with therapy and medication management, and provide wrap-around services for those young adults . The ACT team provides therapy, medication management, and ongoing wrap-around services for severe mental illness.
Jennifer Kemp is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner based at Four Rivers Behavioral Health’s Lakes Center location in Murray, KY. Jennifer is a Graves County native and earned her nursing degree at Murray State University. She went on to complete her Masters of Nursing at Frontier Nursing University. Jennifer began her clinical practice at Four Rivers Behavioral Health in January of 2023.
Marilee Baker is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She attained a Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University and started practice at Four Rivers Behavioral Health in 2021.
