The Zone, Opening Soon

Everyone goes through thing’s in life that are hard to deal with. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone about it and this can be even harder than the event’s themselves because you are having to trust the person you are talking to and be confident that they will not gossip about your situation or judge you. Often we find it easier to talk to someone who has gone through these similar situations, someone who has felt lost, hopeless, angry, resentful, sad, depressed, suicidal. Dealing with other people can be hard and intimidating but sometimes dealing with ourselves and our own thought and feelings can be almost impossible especially alone. But the good news is that you don’t have to be alone. I am one of the youth peer support specialists at The Zone, our new youth and young adult drop in center. The Zone will be opening soon and it is a great place to come hang out after school and maybe, if you feel like talking, share things that you are going through with someone who understands. I have been depressed and sad, I have lost and grieved loved ones, I have used and abused drugs and alcohol, I have felt hopeless and I have attempted suicide. I have been there and I want to help you get through whatever it is you are struggling with as well. Fight for yourself you are worth it.
