First Steps Program to Help Diagnose Children with Autism

Autism Awareness Day is to help increase understanding and acceptance of people with Autism.

Autism awareness is more than just a day or month; it is import to be able to spread the word about the growing number of children and families who are coping with the challenge of autism and to provide resources for everyone to help.

The First Steps Program helps parents obtain a diagnosis and provide educationally appropriate therapies for children from birth to 36 months. We have speech therapists that have lots of experience working with children who have been diagnosed. They have special training in assistive technology to help with communication.  An example would be Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). PECS is a form of augmentative and alternative communication for nonverbal individuals.
